The first step is to download (or upgrade) to version 1.5+ of Mumble. The download link can be found here.

To join the mumble server with the correct credentials, go on auth → services & groups → services (or click here). From there click on the yellow check to start the authorization flow. Copy the password for the next step. Click on the green arrow to connect to our mumble server.

Congrats on connecting! Next we set up the hotkeys.

There are two hotkeys that are important to setup in mumble. The “shout” key allows you to talk to the FCs up in command comms. The “whisper” key allows you to talk to the people in the same channel as you.

To setup these hotkeys open your mumble settings to shortcuts.

For your shout key, select “Push to Talk” and set an easily accessible hotkey. It should look something like this:

For you whisper key, select “Whisper/Shout” and set an easily accessible hotkey. After it is set, click on the the dots under the data header and set it to only shout/whisper to the current channel.

And you're done! With this you've setup mumble correctly and your fleet commanders will be very happy. You can check if you've done this correctly by joining mumble and using your hotkeys. If the icon next to your name shines yellow, you are whispering. If the icon next to your name shines blue, you are shouting.
